“I was thinking how lucky I am that my son receives so much personal attention. Then I realized that he isn't the only one! Every child at RJA gets that kind of special attention. That's one of the things that sets this school apart.”

academic excellence
Arts
Our visual and performing arts programs provide an excellent foundation for creative expression. Our artist-in-residence enhances curricular areas through long-term projects that incorporate multiple steps and require students to think like artists. Students emerge from the year with significant pieces of artwork that reflect the time and creativity invested. Projects include creative sculpture, paper made from prairie grass, beadwork to decorate tallitot (prayer shawls), puppets and personal narrative boxes.
Music and musical theory are taught twice weekly to all grades. Band is a required component of the fourth- and fifth-grade curriculum, and meets twice weekly — once in instrument groups and once as an ensemble.
Classroom teachers are encouraged to use drama and art, affording students the opportunity to express themselves using multiple intelligences. Each year, our students present a lively Chanukah show for our RJA community.
