“I was thinking how lucky I am that my son receives so much personal attention. Then I realized that he isn't the only one! Every child at RJA gets that kind of special attention. That's one of the things that sets this school apart.”

Science
At any given time, you may find a family of crayfish in our science lab. Large stream tables may indicate the effects of erosion. Boats and paper airplanes await their next launching. And second graders are studying the pill bugs and butterflies to understand the physiology, lifestyle and morphology of living organisms.
The hands-on experiments are part of a science program that centers on curiosity, discovery and a desire to make sense of the natural world. Students are taught to observe, record and explain their conclusions with precision and insight, and to apply scientific concepts and technologies to all facets of life.
Our science lab is a place of excitement as students discover through hands-on lab activities. In collaboration with Washington University, we are able to provide the teachers and students with thorough and engaging science units. Each includes a multitude of materials that enhances scientific understanding at every grade level.
