“I was thinking how lucky I am that my son receives so much personal attention. Then I realized that he isn't the only one! Every child at RJA gets that kind of special attention. That's one of the things that sets this school apart.”

Weekly Torah Portion

At RJA, leading the Torah service is a rite of passage that begins in third grade. By that time, students can adequately decipher ancient texts, apply trope (chanting notations), contemplate possible interpretations and serve as a spiritual leader.

Each Thursday, a student in third, fourth or fifth grade chants Torah and engages the entire school in a discussion. Every student is encouraged to think deeply, to ask questions and to consider how the stories of their heritage can be a guide for ethical living.
